Our Hand Therapy and Upper Limb Therapy treatment always consists of a thorough assessment of your problem, devising an appropriate treatment plan and exercises along with hands on treatment.
We will also advise on home and workplace ergonomics and changes that can get you back to all the things you love to do quicker.

Exercise prescription
A vital part of treating any hand and upper limb condition is our Hand therapist prescribing the right exercises for your condition whether it is to regain strength or range of motion or help reduce pain
Splinting and bracing
We make custom made splints and braces from thermoplastic, neoprene, leather and Lycra as well as prescribe the most appropriate prefabricated braces available
Hands on therapy is s vital part of both assessing and treating your hand or upper quadrant condition. This may include massage , muscle releases, trigger point therapy, dry needling or electrotherapy. Physiotherapy techniques as well as Hand Therapy skills add to the range of treatments available.

Helen Burfield -Hand and Upper Limb Physiotherapist
Helen Burfield has over 30 years of experience as a Physiotherapist and Completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Hand and Upper Limb Rehabilitation in 1997. She is an Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association and is a Principal Physiotherapist at Adelaide Sports Physiotherapy. She has a been a past President of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and lectures on hands, wrists and elbow conditions to Masters Students and fellow therapists
